This might prove amusing to some out there. A small cocktail mystery solved, involving the Old-Fashioned expertly made by Ryan Gosling’s character in the 2011 film “Crazy Stupid Love.” Anyway, it’s something I wondered about for nearly a decade until I accidentally stumbled upon the answer recently.

> Movies usually screw drinks up beyond recognition. Eric Alperin, co-owner of The Varnish, made sure Gosling didn't.

It would be interesting to compile a list of examples of credible mixology in television, film, and even literature. Probably would be a short list.

I probably have about 300+ instances of cocktails in movies safekept in my Evernote. Define ‘credible mixology’ and I’m happy to collaborate.
