I put together a fairly lengthy oral history about the origins and early days of Pegu Club for Punch. Perhaps not much new here for those who know their cocktail history well, but you never know.

One of your interviewees in the article told me “it’s nice to be accurately quoted for a change”.

I get that a lot, and it stuns me every time that being quoted accurately should be such an exception for most interviewees. Then again, I know a lot of journalists and editors who are just fine with “massaging” quotes.

@RobertSimonson Thank you for these oral histories. I love them, and they are the perfect length to print out and read to my nonagenarian grandfather, who loves hearing about all of these things from the mouths of those who were there.
